Golden Forest Club at Sequoia Lodge — Is it Worth It ?

A complete renovation starting in January 2026

At the Destination D23 event, the Walt Disney Company confirmed the total renovation of the hotel and the start date of the work, which is scheduled for January 2026. This is important information because all of the hotel’s rooms, suites and communal areas will be completely refurbished, as will the Golden Forest Club.

What are the benefits of the Golden Forest Club?

People who choose a VIP package will enjoy unique benefits that are available to guests of Disney-themed hotels.

The private reception area

Located to the left of the Sequoia Lodge lobby, the Golden Forest Club’s tiny reception area contrasts sharply with the enormous area reserved for all other guests. However, it offers a cosy, peaceful and personalised setting from the moment you arrive.

There are no endless queues to collect your Magic Pass: two dedicated receptionists are on hand to assist guests. The Magic Pass is, of course, in the colours of the Golden Forest Club and will grant you access to the Lounge.

This saves you precious time, allowing you to quickly drop off your bags and head to the parks. But these Cast Members are more than just receptionists! I had the opportunity to chat with them and was impressed by their knowledge of the hotel.

Breakfast is included in the Lounge

As a special privilege, Golden Forest Club residents can enjoy breakfast in the lounge, while guests who have opted for breakfast with their classic room will have it in the hotel restaurant, the Hunter Grill. The Lounge is much quieter in the morning than the restaurant. A particular boon for those who find themselves unable to endure sonic dissonance! 🤫

Now, let’s talk about what interests you most: the buffet! It’s almost identical to the one served in the restaurant. You’ll find classic breakfast items with a Disney twist, such as Mickey waffles and cake, as well as pastries, different types of bread, fruit, and yoghurt. There are also a few exclusive perks, such as the fresh orange juice machine! It’s a little slice of heaven!

The writer’s tip

Here’s a tip for those staying for several days! If you’d like to have breakfast somewhere different, you can enjoy it at other restaurants in the Disney Parks and Disney Village, where breakfast is available.

Afternoon tea, tea time and drinks in the private lounge

Like the Castle Club, Empire State Club and Compass Club, the Golden Forest Club includes access to the hotel’s private lounge.

Fancy a hot chocolate or tea on a winter evening after warming up by the Redwood Bar’s fireplace? Just head to the lounge, where you can enjoy unlimited non-alcoholic drinks between 12 noon and 10.30 pm.

Important note: drinks must be consumed on site and cannot be taken away (except in the evening, when the lounge only offers takeaway drinks)!

Guests staying in GFC rooms can enjoy a range of sweet and savoury treats every day from 3.30pm to 5pm in the form of afternoon tea, a real privilege. It’s a truly luxurious experience and a delightful break, especially welcome when it’s cold outside.

⚠️ Please note! Following the reopening of the Disneyland Hotel in 2024, Disneyland Paris has changed the conditions of access to the Lounge. From now on, it will no longer be possible to access the lounge on the day of your departure. In other words, if you stay for two nights and three days in a GFC room, you will only have access to the lounge twice!

A dedicated concierge and thoughtful touches

Sequoia Lodge goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay, providing you with a dedicated concierge. If you have any questions or would like to make restaurant or excursion reservations, please visit the GFC reception desk.

Paid services are available if you would like to surprise your family or loved ones upon arrival (see the catalogue below). For instance, you can order gifts from the hotel boutique to give to your loved ones as soon as you arrive (£45 service charge).

And as a special extra, you will find small gifts in your room when you arrive. These range from collector’s cards and chocolate coins in the Club rooms, to tote bags and soft toys in the most luxurious suites.

Golden Forest Club rooms and suites

The Disney Sequoia Lodge has 110 Golden Forest Club rooms and 10 suites. All are located in the main building on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors, close to everything. Here’s a preview of what you can expect:

Golden Forest Rooms: Standard Rooms ++

If you thought these rooms were more spacious than the Classic Superior Rooms, you’re wrong! Unfortunately, GFC rooms don’t offer much more than a few extra amenities, such as:

• A mini fridge
• An espresso machine, and tea.

The suites

Unlike other hotels, the Sequoia only offers one type of suite. This is a spacious 55 m² suite comprising two bedrooms and a large living room with a small kitchen. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t at all impressed when I visited in 2023. While it certainly offers plenty of space, it doesn’t really exude luxury.

Is it worth booking with Golden Forest Club?

Before booking, you will definitely ask yourself: is the Golden Forest Club worth it? For the rooms, yes, more often than you would think. For the suite, only on the right date.

The table below is generated from our own daily reading of the Disneyland Paris booking engine for the coming weeks. For each Golden Forest Club category currently on sale, it shows the lowest and the highest package price per person, the average premium over the cheapest Standard room on the same day, and the nearest date it is available. Prices are for a 1 night / 2 days package for 2 adults and 1 child, park tickets included. A category disappears from the table when it is sold out on every date we track, which happens quickly for the suite.

At present, I don’t think the price is right for the suite.

How to read the premium: it is the whole price of the Club, so deduct what you would otherwise pay for the services it includes. Breakfast at the Hunter’s Grill is charged around €30 per adult, and I value the afternoon tea at roughly €30 per person for something comparable. For a couple, that is about €120 of food and drink included before you count the private reception, the concierge and the quieter lounge. Whenever the premium in the table is close to that figure, the Club room is effectively free; on peak dates, when the premium climbs well above it, you are paying for exclusivity.

The suite follows the same logic with a much larger premium: it is worth it for a birthday or an anniversary, not as a way to save on breakfast.

How much does a Golden Forest Club Suite cost?

On the dates when it is on sale, the Golden Forest Club Suite costs roughly twice the price of a Standard room at Sequoia Lodge, all the Club benefits included. The current range is below; the “premium” column is the difference with the cheapest Standard room on the same day.

How can I book a Golden Forest Club room?

The most convenient way is to visit the official website, book.disneylandparis.com. However, I noticed that Golden Forest Club rooms and suites only appear as available options for last-minute bookings. It’s very strange, but they are only listed for very close dates.

My review of The Golden Forest Club

In 2023, I had the opportunity to view the rooms and lounge. Although I didn’t stay at the hotel, having read dozens of guest reviews, I found this VIP experience to be the least interesting of all. This is not because of the price, but because the rooms have aged very poorly. While the Sequoia does offer a cosy atmosphere, it would benefit greatly from renovation.

In my opinion, the Newport Bay Club currently offers better value for money.
