About the Marvel hotel at Disneyland Paris
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel sits next to Disney Village, opposite Disney’s Newport Bay Club, on the shores of Lake Disney. It is one of the resort’s two 4‑star hotels and, in our opinion, the most immersive of them all.
The building originally opened in 1992 as Disney’s Hotel New York, closed in 2019 and reopened on 21 June 2021 after a two‑year renovation that added the Marvel theme. From the outside the changes are subtle: a repainted facade gives it a sharper, more New York feel. Inside is where the transformation is dramatic.
More than a hotel: a Marvel art gallery
New York the Art of Marvel is more than a place to sleep, it is a truly immersive experience in the world of Marvel comics. It starts in the lobby, arguably the most breathtaking space in the hotel, where huge backlit panels by Spanish artist Carlos Gomez greet you: Black Panther, Thor, Doctor Strange and Hulk watch over guests from the moment they arrive.
Throughout the hotel you will find more than 350 works of art created by over 110 artists, with around 50 pieces made exclusively for the property, one of the largest publicly displayed Marvel art collections in the world. Even the lift doors change on every floor, and each floor is dedicated to a different superhero, so it is worth exploring every level.
As you enter the hotel lobby, you’ll be greeted by huge backlit panels depicting Marvel comic characters, created by Spanish artist Carlos Gomez. Black Panther, Thor, Doctor Strange, Hulk: Marvel superheroes watch over guests from the moment they enter.
Throughout the hotel there are more than 1,400 works of art, including 50 unique pieces created by around twenty Marvel artists. Even the lift doors on each floor have been given a new look. The comfort of the rooms at New York the Art of Marvel is excellent, and the theming is a step above most Disney hotels. We spent four nights (across two stays) in a Superior Room overlooking the lake. It is a “standard” room, yet it still felt special.
The Marvel hotel has 561 rooms and suites across eight floors:

Superior Room: the “budget” option that does not feel budget
There is nothing cheap about the entry‑level rooms. Soft lighting, a contemporary “spider‑web” carpet motif, superhero artwork, a coffee maker and a clever mirror that doubles as a TV: it is easy to feel like you are in Manhattan. When you walk in, a personal welcome message appears in the mirror. Choose a Disney Lake View if your budget allows, the view is worth it.
Empire State Club: lounge access and extra comfort
For a little more, the Empire State Club gets you Iron Man‑inspired decor, a VIP welcome and access to a private lounge with breakfast and soft drinks throughout the day. Worth it on relaxed itineraries; less so if you spend every waking hour in the parks.

The Marvel Design Studio
Ever heard of the ‘Marvel Bullpen’, the name of the team of cartoonists who worked for the publisher in the 1960s? The name was invented by Stan Lee and is the most famous publishing group in the world of comics.
Designed by Imagineers to put kids in the shoes of a comic book artist, the Marvel Design Studio. Kids can sit down and learn how to draw Iron Man’s helmet and follow other tutorials. Tablets are also available to play Marvel games.
The Hero Training Zone
This zone includes a huge 420m2 multi-activity sports field covered in a giant fresco of Iron Man and Captain America. Basketball, football, trampoline: if the mini-superheroes aren’t tired enough, they can let off all the steam they want.
And when it’s time to relax, there’s nothing like a dip in the New York Metro-style swimming pool.
The Metro Pool
Not far from the Hero Training Zone is the Marvel Hotel’s swimming pool, the Metro Pool, the hotel’s heated and supervised indoor pool. The Marvel Hotel also has an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. Ideal for a dip in both summer and winter.

Apart from the Disneyland Hotel, nothing is closer to the parks and Disney Village. The lake views are a real bonus and other hotels for dining or character meets are close by.

Of all the hotels we have stayed in, we had remarkably few complaints. Four nights in a Superior Room were genuinely magical, and the suites, especially the hexagonal Spider‑Man suite, are stunning.

We were more than pleasantly surprised. The Downtown buffet is arguably the best at Disneyland Paris, and Manhattan’s cosy atmosphere and refined dishes won over the whole family.
