Why do we love the Cheyenne?

  • Total immersion: the Cheyenne Hotel takes you on a journey back to the days of the Wild West. It’s the finest hotel of its kind in France.
  • Outstanding value for money: the Disney Hotel Cheyenne offers genuinely competitive rates with quality accommodation. A seriously underrated hotel that deserves your full attention!
  • The Chuck Wagon Café: surprisingly, this restaurant rivals the New York Marvel Hotel or the Newport Bay Club in terms of theming.
  • Quirky rooms: kids love the Toy Story theme and the trundle bed.
  • The Starbucks: the only Disney hotel with its own Starbucks. A small detail for some, but a big deal for coffee lovers.

How much is a night at Disney Cheyenne?

We’ll tell you straight away: the Cheyenne is by far the best value for money at Disneyland Paris! It doesn’t have a swimming pool, suites or a lounge. But that’s not necessarily what everyone needs from a Disney hotel.

The Cheyenne sits between the Santa Fe (the cheapest Disney hotel) and the Sequoia Lodge (the first 3-star with a pool). But what’s the real price difference? I analysed prices across 274 dates for all three hotels, based on a 2-day/1-night package for 2 adults + 1 child with 2-park tickets included.

Prices at a glance

  • Santa Fe is cheaper in 84% of cases (230 out of 274 dates)
  • Average price gap Cheyenne → Santa Fe: + €38 per stay (≈ €13/person)
  • Average price gap Sequoia → Cheyenne: + €61 per stay (≈ €20/person)
  • Sequoia Lodge cheapest: 0 times out of 274 dates

Overview: lowest, average and peak prices

Hotel Lowest price Average price Peak price Weekend effect
Santa Fe ★★ €396 (€132/pers) €612 (€204/pers) €924 +7%
Cheyenne ★★★ €393 (€131/pers) €660 (€220/pers) €972 +7%
Sequoia Lodge ★★★ €393 (€131/pers) €717 (€239/pers) €1,143 +8%

Surprise: all three hotels share an almost identical floor price (≈ €131/person in January). It’s in the average and peak seasons that the gap widens: the Sequoia Lodge costs on average €99 more than the Santa Fe and €61 more than the Cheyenne per stay.

Where is the Cheyenne Hotel located?

Although a little further away than the New York Hotel, the Cheyenne’s location remains a privileged spot within the resort.

The Toy Story Hotel sits just above the Hotel New York. Opposite, on the other side of the Rio Grande, you’ll find the Hotel Santa Fe. It’s located north of Lake Disney, about 20 minutes on foot from both parks.

By road, you can reach it via Rue du Bœuf Agile, either by car or by the Magic Shuttle. Its location is particularly handy if you’re arriving by train: it’s only a 12-minute walk from Marne-la-Vallée Chessy Nord station.

To get to the Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World, the most adventurous can walk. Everyone else can hop on the free shuttle and arrive in under 10 minutes.

Day vs evening: a very different experience

One thing that guides rarely mention: walking 20 minutes in the fresh morning air and walking 20 minutes at night after the fireworks with tired children are two completely different experiences. In the morning, the stroll along the Rio Grande is genuinely pleasant. In the evening, the shuttle is a lifesaver — but expect it to be packed around 10:30pm after the night show.

Also worth knowing: some Bunk Houses are quite far from the reception area. In winter or rainy weather, it can take an extra 5–10 minutes just to reach the shuttle stop from your room. If this matters to you, request a room close to services when booking.

The Cheyenne Hotel: Presentation

It’s time to tell you what makes this hotel different. First of all, the Cheyenne was designed by American architect Robert Arthur Morton Stern, who also designed the Newport.

This 1,000-room complex doesn’t just look like the Wild West: it was built like a real town from the time of the conquest of the West, but an artificial town straight out of a film studio. The town has all the trappings of an old Wild West town: a saloon, a general store, a barn, a vegetable garden and a fort.

It takes its name from the capital of the state of Wyoming in the United States: the city of Cheyenne. It’s also the name of a famous Indian tribe.

Movie Sets

As you walk around the hotel, you’ll notice a number of exterior set elements that have been used inside, such as the roofs of the booths in the Chuck Wagon Restaurant.

The rooms you can discover below are located in buildings scattered around the complex. These coloured buildings are called ‘Bunk Houses’, a reference to the dormitories used by the American workers who built the railways during the conquest of the West.

In addition to their different colours, these bunk houses all have names dedicated to the legends of the American West: Geronimo, Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Sitting Bull, Billy the Kid….

Cheyenne hotel’s rooms

Unlike superior hotels such as the Newport or the Sequoia, there are no suites or superior rooms at the Cheyenne. However, there are three types of rooms to choose from during your stay, all of which sleep up to 4 people and measure 21m2:

Woody's round up room at Cheyenne Hotel
  • The classic Woody’s Roundup Standard Room: Step into the world of Pixar and Toy characters in this room that is anything but cheap. There are plenty of references to Woody and his friends, as well as nods to the Wild West, such as the cowboy shirt-pattern curtains and the horseshoe-shaped mirror.
  • Woody’s Roundup room close to hotel facilities: for a small extra charge, you can stay close to the lobby, the shop and the other services offered by the hotel. You’ll also be a little closer to the parks.
  • Standard room overlooking the Rio Grande: these are the rooms in the buildings overlooking the Rio Grande, such as the Soaring Eagle, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Sitting Bull, Doc Holiday and Running Bear. These last 3 bring you one step closer to the theme parks.

The 3 room types in detail

Room Capacity Bedding Size Key feature
Standard Woody’s Roundup 4 guests max 1 double bed + 1 trundle bed or 2 double beds 21 m² Standard room, spread across all Bunk Houses
Standard close to services 4 guests max 1 double bed + 1 trundle bed or 2 double beds 21 m² Near the lobby, shop and shuttle — small supplement
Standard Rio Grande view 4 guests max 1 double bed + 1 trundle bed or 2 double beds 21 m² River-side Bunk Houses (Soaring Eagle, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Sitting Bull, Doc Holiday, Running Bear) — quieter view

Good to know: all three room types are identical in size and amenities (Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe, Disney channels). Only the location within the complex differs. Baby cot available on request (free). No suites or superior rooms are offered at the Cheyenne, unlike the Sequoia Lodge or the Newport Bay Club.

Which view should you request?

  • River side (Soaring Eagle, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Sitting Bull, Doc Holiday, Running Bear): overlooks the Rio Grande — the quietest and greenest option. Recommended by regular visitors for a peaceful stay.
  • Road / car park side: some rooms face the road separating the hotel from the main visitor car park. Less scenic and potentially noisier.
  • Main street side (interior): views of the Far West scenery, Bunk House facades and wagons. Immersive but busier, especially in the mornings when guests head out to the parks.

Did you say Woody’s Roundup?

Have you noticed the initials WR hidden around the room? WR stands for Woody’s Roundup, the name of the TV show dedicated to Woody in the film Toy Story 2.

What and where to eat at the Disney Cheyenne Hotel ?

When you stay at the Disney Cheyenne Hotel, where do you eat? At the Chuck Wagon Café or in the surrounding area? Here’s some useful information about dining in and around the hotel.

Breakfast: two options

If you booked breakfast when you made your reservation, you should know that it is served in the hotel’s only restaurant: the Chuck Wagon Café. As in the other hotels, this is an all-you-can-eat breakfast in the form of a varied buffet at a cost of €24 for adults and €17 per child (aged 3 to 11).

Alternatively, you can enjoy breakfast in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Starbucks in the Cheyenne, next to the General Store.

Starbucks coffee at the Disney Cheyenne Hotel

Here you can enjoy all the specialities of the American chain: Latte macchiato, cappuccino or mocha. The bill will be a little lower, especially if there are a lot of you.

The Chuck Wagon Café

Have you ever eaten inside an authentic American wagon, the same ones that carried tens of thousands of Americans during the Gold Rush? That’s what you can do at the Chuck Wagon Café, Cheyenne’s buffet restaurant in a barn. It’s a restaurant that’s open to everyone, Disney hotel residents and visitors alike.

Chuck Wagon Cafe All you can eat buffet
One of the best all you can eat buffet at Disneyland Paris !

Since 2022, the Chuck Wagon has only one menu, the all-you-can-eat buffet for €40 per adult and €22 per child. In addition to its Western theme, this restaurant also serves Tex-Mex and American cuisine. If you’re a fan of BBQ and ribs, don’t miss the Range Rider BBQ stand.

The Red Garter Saloon

What would a Wild West town be without its saloon? There are no fights in this bar, just cocktails and the chance to grab a bite to eat. You can try Wild West cocktails like the Klondike or the Gold Rush.

On the food front, there are only two pizzas on the 2026 menu: a cheese pizza and a ham and cheese pizza (a la carte or on the menu). Mini Micky doughnuts and fruit salads are also on the menu for those with a sweet tooth.

Activites for young cow boys

In keeping with its theme, this Disney hotel offers two exclusive outdoor activities for the little ones.

The pony ride

Poney ride at the Disney Cheyenne Hotel

A real cowboy or cowgirl has to be able to tame his mount! That’s why the Disney Cheyenne Hotel offers young and old the chance to discover the city on pony or horseback.

Please note: this is a seasonal activity and is not always available. Also, this activity costs €9 per ride.

Fort Apache

Children can play cowboys and Indians at Fort Apache and its Indian Village. This outdoor play area is the ideal place to let off steam in the fresh air.

Meet Woody and Jessie

This is one of those exclusive Cheyenne perks that many guests only discover once they arrive: Woody or Jessie is present every day at the hotel for photo sessions and meet-and-greets with residents. One of the two Toy Story sheriffs typically appears in the morning, between 8:15am and 11am, in or near the lobby. On some days, a second session may take place in the evening between 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

The character is chosen randomly: you won’t know until the last minute whether it’s Woody or Jessie greeting you. Either way, children (and parents!) leave with stars in their eyes. A Disney PhotoPass photographer is often on hand to capture the moment.

Our tip

ask for the exact schedule at reception as soon as you check in. The queue is usually much shorter than in the parks — a genuine perk of being a hotel resident. If you’re heading to the parks early for Extra Magic Moments, consider meeting Woody or Jessie the evening before rather than rushing your morning departure.

Hotel Services

This Disney hotel offers a wide range of services to its guests. There are a few differences from higher category hotels, such as the absence of free luggage storage.

  • Extra magic moments
  • Parking included in your stay
  • Luggage storage
  • Rooms accessible to those with reduced mobility
  • Laundry facilities (in the Jesse James building)
  • Concierge service
  • Safe, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi in rooms
  • Complimentary shuttle service to parks
  • Shopping service
  • Disney and international channels
  • Magic Pass
  • Optional babysitting service

Reviews of the Disney Cheyenne Hotel

More than 18K reviews have been summed up by our redactors. Here are the top 3 negatives reviews about the Cheyenne hotel.

Common criticisms from guests

While the theming and immersion are universally praised, not everything is perfect at the Cheyenne. Between my own experience of two nights at the Cheyenne in 2018 and the thousands of reviews I’ve analysed across forums and travel review sites, there are several recurring issues worth flagging:

  • Bedding / comfort: this is the number one complaint. The mattress sits on a wooden plank instead of a proper base, and many guests describe it as too firm. Several visitors left with back pain. Most agree it’s manageable for one night, but becomes a real issue for longer stays. Personally, I have a neutral memory of the mattress — neither great nor terrible for a single night.
  • Soundproofing: “you can hear everything” is a phrase that comes up again and again. Neighbours sneezing at 4am, engine noise for some rooms — the walls are thin.
  • Check-in queues: the experience varies enormously depending on your arrival time. Early morning or mid-afternoon: quick and pleasant. Around 11am: very slow and understaffed.
  • Distance between buildings: some Bunk Houses are far from reception, which can be a pain in winter or rain. The scattered layout is part of the Wild West charm, but it can also be a practical nuisance. This is why choosing a room close to services is worth the small extra cost.

What the review data shows

  • Accessibility (64% negative reviews): the lack of a lift for first-floor rooms is a significant issue, particularly for families with pushchairs and heavy luggage.
  • Air conditioning (60% negative reviews): rooms do have AC, but guests frequently complain about insufficient controls.
  • No mini fridge (cited by 64% of reviewers): a recurring and understandable criticism. Having a mini fridge, especially in summer, shouldn’t be a luxury.
  • Service and cleanliness (77% positive reviews): the staff are generally praised as friendly and helpful. The hotel is kept clean according to the large majority of guests.

Aggregated ratings

Altough it is one the favourite and top value hotel in Disneyland Paris, the average grade of 4.2/5 is one of the worst of all Disney Hotel.

  • Google: 4.2/5 (> 20,000 reviews)
  • Tripadvisor: 3.8/5 (> 14,000 reviews)
  • Booking: 7.9/10 (> 2,000 reviews)
  • Overall average: 4.0/5
Notre avis

My verdict in brief

📍 Location: 4 / 5

Apart from the Davy Crockett Ranch, the Cheyenne is the Disney hotel furthest from the parks. Twenty minutes on foot isn’t far, but depending on the weather it can quickly become a hassle. That said, the Far West setting and the walk along the Rio Grande remain, in my view, a genuine highlight.

🏨 Rooms: 3.5 / 5

Last renovated in 2016, the Cheyenne could do with a refresh to make stays a little more comfortable. The Western theming is truly immersive and the level of detail in the décor creates a real sense of being in Woody’s world. But do try to book a room close to services to avoid extra walking.

🍝 Food: 4.5 / 5

Our family has excellent memories of our dinner at the Chuck Wagon Café. The atmosphere is admittedly a bit noisy, but the setting is exceptional.

🎠 Activities: 4 / 5

The Cheyenne stands out from other “budget” Disney hotels thanks to the range of activities and its outdoor environment. The rose garden, the play area, the vegetable patch and the walk along the Rio Grande are particularly popular with families.

Mon verdict : 17/20

Looking at the thousands of reviews, it’s clear how popular and underrated this hotel is. Parents and children love it. 4 stars out of 5 across more than 15,000 reviews! Staying at a Disney hotel means stepping into an imaginary world, and that’s exactly what the Cheyenne delivers. The room style and décor are timeless. And on top of all that, it’s one of the cheapest Disney hotels! The perfect spot for a magical family stay without breaking the bank.

FAQ

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-out is at 11:00am across all Disney hotels, including partner hotels. After check-out, your MagicPass will no longer work in your room. Check-in can take place at any time until midnight. Even if the room won’t be ready until 3pm, you can head to the Cheyenne reception at any time and leave your luggage with the concierge.

Where do I park?

Three parking areas are reserved for Cheyenne guests. Parking is included with every booking at this hotel.

Should I choose the Cheyenne or the Santa Fe?

Sitting opposite each other, separated by the Rio Grande, these two hotels have very similar prices — even though the Cheyenne is a 3-star hotel and the Santa Fe a 2-star. Our data shows the Santa Fe is cheaper in 84% of cases, but the average gap is only €38 per stay. In January, the floor prices are virtually identical. For a detailed comparison, read our article: Hotel Cheyenne or Santa Fe? The match!

What are the nearest restaurants?

The easiest and quickest option is to eat at the Chuck Wagon Café, the Cheyenne’s own restaurant. You can also walk to La Cantina, the Santa Fe restaurant just across the way, or a little further to the Hunter’s Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern at the Sequoia Lodge.
