How much does a trip to Walt Disney World cost?

A stay at Walt Disney World is regarded by many as being too expensive. Even so, a trip to Disney's largest resort is not out of reach, whether you choose the all-inclusive option with accommodation at a Disney hotel or the à la carte option. Having now been to Orlando twice, I can share with you the best deals I've found and the best tips for saving money at this dream destination.

How Much Does It Cost To Go To Disney World?

A brief overview of the cost of a trip to Disney World:

  • Hotel + Ticket Package : Expect to pay at least £1,500 for a seven-day, six-night stay for 2 guests in Partner Hotel and £1,700 for a stay at a Walt Disney World hotel.
  • Plane : the cheapest month for flights from London to Orlando is September where tickets start at £390 on average

What length of stay are we talking about?

The longer you’ll stay in Florida, the more it will cost you !

The length of the stay is important because it has a real impact on the overall budget. However, as you’ll see below, a longer stay can sometimes be more economical.

I’ve been to Orlando twice in the space of 5 years 🤩, so I know what I’m talking about when I say that, for me, the minimum length of a Disney World stay is 7 days. All the price examples in this guide are for six nights and seven days in the parks. You can stay for longer if you wish, but here we’re only talking about the cost of staying in the Florida parks.

To visit the four theme parks and two water parks at the Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll need a minimum of six days, or one day for each park. Since the official Disney Holidays UK website regularly offers deals on seven- and 14-day stays, we’re using seven days as the reference point.

Redactor’s Tip

It’s possible to spend just four days at Disney World, with one day dedicated to each park. The overall budget will be lower.

When is the best time to go to get the lowest prices?

The three times of the year when prices are lowest are also the three times when you will enjoy the best value for money. These three periods are periods of lower attendance at the parks and do not correspond to school holidays in the United States.

  • Early January: The first week of January is a great time to go, as the weather is mild and there aren’t many people around. Early February is also attractive, except during Presidents’ Day week.
  • August/early September. This is the time of year that we have always travelled. The last week of August offers very attractive rates on plane and park tickets. The main drawback is still the weather, as it is precisely the time of heavy rain and the risk of hurricanes (which we experienced there).
  • May: After spring break, May is a great time to visit, with moderate prices and fewer crowds, especially in the early weeks. The weather is warming up, but it’s still quite comfortable.

What is the lowest price for a trip to Disney World?

You can get the best rates for a 6-night, 7-day stay in the parks for two people in 2024 if you:

  • Leave at the best time (Value Season)
  • Book well in advance
  • Benefit from an attractive offer like the “14-Day Magic Ticket”

Assuming you leave at the best time (value season), book well in advance, and can benefit from an attractive offer such as the ’14-Day Magic Ticket’, here are the best rates for a 6-night, 7-day stay in the parks for two people:

Holiday type Hotel 14-Day Magic Ticket Hotel Price Total Price
A la carte stay tickets + Orlando hotels Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando at SeaWorld £916* £580 £1496
WDW Partner Hotel SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Western Entrance £916* £770 £1686
WDM Disney Hotel Disney’s All-Star Movies / Music / Sports Resorts £916* £788 £1704
Prices noted for reservations made in August 2025. *15% discount applied

For comparison, a 6-night, 7-day stay with hotel and tickets at the Disney Hotel Santa Fe (Value Hotel) at Disneyland Paris at the same time costs £2111.

Proof that it doesn’t cost more to visit the most beautiful and largest Disney resort in the world!

As you’ll see, you can save €700 by choosing a cheap star-rated room outside the resort. On the other hand, you won’t be able to enjoy all the benefits included in the packages offered by Disney World for its residents.

Disney Hotel: the ‘Full Magic Inclusive’ option

If you want to experience the full magic of Disney without any hassle, I recommend the ticket and accommodation package at one of the resort’s 25 hotels.

If you’re looking to save as much as possible, then you should definitely consider one of the “Value Resort Hotels” : Pop Century Resort, All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Sports Resort & Art of Animation Resort. These are the five least expensive hotels in the resort.

Depending on the category chosen, prices increase rapidly. During peak season, such as at Christmas, a night at Disney’s 4-star Riviera Resort Deluxe Villas hotel complex can cost up to €5,000!

Benefits included with a Walt Disney World ticket and hotel stay:

However, whatever hotel you opt for, staying at a Disney property comes with certain exclusive benefits, such as:

  • Extra Magical Times: Just like guests at Disneyland Paris hotels, Walt Disney World guests can access the parks either early (Early Entry) or late. Until 2025, Disney hotel guests can check in 30 minutes before the park opens.
  • Disney Magical Extras: These include discounts in the shops, unlimited Disney PhotoPass and even a letter from Mickey himself to surprise a loved one.
  • Disney Transportation Network: There is no need to drive to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney Springs. This extremely well-organised network includes the monorail, boats (ferryboats and water taxis), buses and the Skyliner (WDW’s gondola system).
  • One free entry to one of the two water parks: From 1 January 2025, Disney hotel guests will enjoy complimentary access to both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach.

How much does a Disney hotel cost?

Sleeping in a Disney hotel can cost anything from a low price to a very high price, depending on the hotel and the season. As you can see in the following table, the price varies greatly. Especially for Deluxe Villas and Resort Hotels which price can double !

As you can see below, the cheapest package for six nights and seven park days costs £1,704. The most expensive package costs £7,900!

Disney Partner Hotels: Savings and benefits

Walt Disney World Resort has partnered with hotels located near the parks, mostly in the Lake Buena Vista area, just like Disneyland Paris. These hotels certainly don’t offer immersion in the Disney universe, but they do offer a number of benefits, starting with savings.

What are the advantages of Partner Hotels?

Discover below the main reasons to book accommodations at one of the many partner establishments.

  • Proximity: The Walt Disney Travel Company requires partner hotels to be within a maximum of 10 minutes of the parks and Disney Springs.
  • You will enjoy the same exclusive benefits as Disney hotel guests, including free admission to the water parks and Extra Magical Times. These benefits also apply if you book through the Disney Holidays platform.
  • More affordable rates: Partner Hotels are much cheaper, especially for the same category of 4-star hotels.

Redactor’s Tip : the Four Seasons Character Breakfast

Some of our partner hotels, such as the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, offer breakfast with Goofy and his friends (from €49 per person). You can even enjoy this experience if you’re staying elsewhere!

What are the things that cost money?

It takes more time to get to Orlando from France than it does to get to Disneyland Paris, and that obviously means it costs more. You will have to spend money on it, just like you would on a stay at the French Park.

  • Transportation: In addition to plane tickets to the United States, you’ll also need to travel between and around the parks (if you plan to visit Florida).
  • Accommodation: With over 500 hotels, Orlando’s hospitality sector is vast, and this is in addition to the 25 hotels that are part of the Disney World resort. This is normal for the world’s number one tourist destination.
  • Tickets: You might think that the cost of admission to the four Disney World parks is the most expensive part of your trip, but you would be wrong. In fact, it can become more expensive if you add in the cost of Genie+ skip-the-line passes and other options.
  • Food: If you’ve ever visited the USA before, you’ll already be aware of how much Americans love food, both in the parks and outside of them, for example at Disney Springs or Lake Buena Vista.
  • All these expenses can add up, but the good news is that you can save money on each of them!

Overnight accommodation in Orlando: The cheapest option

During my two trips to Disney World, we always stayed in a hotel of our choice outside the Walt Disney World Resort. Each time, we stayed in Lake Buena Vista, and despite the distance, this didn’t detract from the magic of the parks.

Among all the advantages we noted, two stand out: the price and the space of the rooms and suites. The distance from the Disney resort isn’t all bad. You’ll be closer to other attractions such as Universal Orlando and SeaWorld, and restaurants tend to be cheaper.
