This outdoor play area is the ideal place to let off steam in the fresh air.

Meet Woody and Jessie

This is one of those exclusive Cheyenne perks that many guests only discover once they arrive: Woody or Jessie is present every day at the hotel for photo sessions and meet-and-greets with residents. One of the two Toy Story sheriffs typically appears in the morning, between 8:15am and 11am, in or near the lobby. On some days, a second session may take place in the evening between 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

The character is chosen randomly: you won’t know until the last minute whether it’s Woody or Jessie greeting you. Either way, children (and parents!) leave with stars in their eyes. A Disney PhotoPass photographer is often on hand to capture the moment.

Our tip

ask for the exact schedule at reception as soon as you check in. The queue is usually much shorter than in the parks — a genuine perk of being a hotel resident. If you’re heading to the parks early for Extra Magic Moments, consider meeting Woody or Jessie the evening before rather than rushing your morning departure.

Hotel Services

This Disney hotel offers a wide range of services to its guests. Here are the top 3 negatives reviews about the Cheyenne hotel.

Common criticisms from guests

While the theming and immersion are universally praised, not everything is perfect at the Cheyenne. Between my own experience of two nights at the Cheyenne in 2018 and the thousands of reviews I’ve analysed across forums and travel review sites, there are several recurring issues worth flagging:

Bedding / comfort: this is the number one complaint. The mattress sits on a wooden plank instead of a proper base, and many guests describe it as too firm. Several visitors left with back pain. Most agree it’s manageable for one night, but becomes a real issue for longer stays. Personally, I have a neutral memory of the mattress — neither great nor terrible for a single night.

Soundproofing: “you can hear everything” is a phrase that comes up again and again. Neighbours sneezing at 4am, engine noise for some rooms — the walls are thin.

Check-in queues: the experience varies enormously depending on your arrival time. Early morning or mid-afternoon: quick and pleasant. Around 11am: very slow and understaffed.

Distance between buildings: some Bunk Houses are far from reception, which can be a pain in winter or rain. The scattered layout is part of the Wild West charm, but it can also be a practical nuisance. This is why choosing a room close to services is worth the small extra cost.

What the review data shows

Accessibility (64% negative reviews): the lack of a lift for first-floor rooms is a significant issue, particularly for families with pushchairs and heavy luggage.

Air conditioning (60% negative reviews): rooms do have AC, but guests frequently complain about insufficient controls.

No mini fridge (cited by 64% of reviewers): a recurring and understandable criticism. Having a mini fridge, especially in summer, shouldn’t be a luxury.

Service and cleanliness (77% positive reviews): the staff are generally praised as friendly and helpful. The hotel is kept clean according to the large majority of guests.

Aggregated ratings

Altough it is one the favourite and top value hotel in Disneyland Paris, the average grade of 4.2/5 is one of the worst of all Disney Hotel.

Google: 4.2/5 (> 20,000 reviews)

Tripadvisor: 3.8/5 (> 14,000 reviews)

Booking: 7.9/10 (> 2,000 reviews)

Overall average: 4.0/5

My verdict in brief

📍 Location: 4 / 5

Apart from the Davy Crockett Ranch, the Cheyenne is the Disney hotel furthest from the parks. Twenty minutes on foot isn’t far, but depending on the weather it can quickly become a hassle. That said, the Far West setting and the walk along the Rio Grande remain, in my view, a genuine highlight.

🏨 Rooms: 3.5 / 5

Last renovated in 2016, the Cheyenne could do with a refresh to make stays a little more comfortable. The Western theming is truly immersive and the level of detail in the décor creates a real sense of being in Woody’s world. But do try to book a room close to services to avoid extra walking.

🍝 Food: 4.5 / 5

Our family has excellent memories of our dinner at the Chuck Wagon Café. Parents and children love it. 4 stars out of 5 across more than 15,000 reviews! Staying at a Disney hotel means stepping into an imaginary world, and that’s exactly what the Cheyenne delivers. The room style and décor are timeless. And on top of all that, it’s one of the cheapest Disney hotels! The perfect spot for a magical family stay without breaking the bank.

FAQ

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-out is at 11:00am across all Disney hotels, including partner hotels. After check-out, your MagicPass will no longer work in your room. Check-in can take place at any time until midnight. Even if the room won’t be ready until 3pm, you can head to the Cheyenne reception at any time and leave your luggage with the concierge.

Where do I park?

Three parking areas are reserved for Cheyenne guests. Parking is included with every booking at this hotel.

Should I choose the Cheyenne or the Santa Fe?

Sitting opposite each other, separated by the Rio Grande, these two hotels have very similar prices — even though the Cheyenne is a 3-star hotel and the Santa Fe a 2-star. Our data shows the Santa Fe is cheaper in 84% of cases, but the average gap is only €38 per stay. In January, the floor prices are virtually identical. For a detailed comparison, read our article: Hotel Cheyenne or Santa Fe? The match!

What are the nearest restaurants?

The easiest and quickest option is to eat at the Chuck Wagon Café, the Cheyenne’s own restaurant. You can also walk to La Cantina, the Santa Fe restaurant just across the way, or a little further to the Hunter’s Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern at the Sequoia Lodge.

Affiliate disclosure

About the links on this page: some “Book now” links on this page are affiliate links.
