8 unusual places to stay near Disneyland Paris

How do you keep a touch of magic and a sparkle in your children's eyes while moving a little away from Disneyland Paris? The answer: unusual stays. I've picked out 8 atypical spots to spend a night around Disney. From a Disney-themed apartment to a night on a boat on the Marne, there's something for every taste and every budget.

8 atypical spots to spend a night around Disney

I scoured the web and the booking platforms to track down the most immersive and unusual experiences to enjoy as a family during a stay at Disneyland Paris. Here are the 8 places I selected:

1. La Coudraie: a haven of peace 10 min from Disneyland Paris

This postcard-perfect setting is tucked away just ten minutes from Disneyland Paris! At the Domaine de la Coudraie, the mood is riverside guinguette on the banks of the Marne, bike rides, games of Mölkky and pétanque… in short, a breath of fresh air a stone’s throw from the parks.

And for anyone who misses the canoe rides at Disneyland Paris, you’ll be glad to know you can rent a canoe for a 2-hour outing on the Marne.

The Domaine de la Coudraie, a 3-star property with 20 modern, spacious rooms, is the perfect place for a romantic or family getaway surrounded by nature, while still being close to the parks.

About the Domaine de la Coudraie:

  • Capacity: 2 to 4 people
  • Price: from €75 per night for two people
  • Location: 23 Chem. de Quincangrogne, 77144 Montévrain

2. A fairytale Airbnb near Disneyland

Themed Airbnbs are plentiful in Marne-la-Vallée and the surrounding area. But this one offers an unrivalled level of immersion. You may have spotted it in the June 2025 episode of Capital on “Disney, Astérix, Futuroscope: the new wild ride of the French’s favourite parks“.

According to the report, the owner — an interior decorator by trade — reportedly poured nearly €120,000 into the renovation to turn it into one of the finest Disney-themed homes out there. And the result really does live up to the hype. See for yourself!

While I find the decor absolutely incredible, I do think the nightly rate is a little steep. To sleep in this fairytale setting, it’ll cost you as much as — if not more than — a room-only night at Hotel Cheyenne!

About the Magic BNB Serris:

  • Capacity: 6 people, 2 bedrooms
  • Price: from €266 per night for two people on Booking
  • Location: Serris, 15 min by shuttle from Marne-la-Vallée TGV station
Book your stay at the Magic BNB Serris

3. The Avengers apartment

This is probably one of the most stunning and immersive privately run homes you’ll find around Disneyland Paris. Quite simply, looking at the photos, this Airbnb has nothing to envy the Spider-Man suite at Hotel Marvel!

The details in this renovated apartment in Magny-le-Hongre are genuinely jaw-dropping: a giant Iron Man figure stands in the huge living room, and once you know what a life-size statue like that costs, you realise it’s far from a minor touch! The owners clearly didn’t cut corners either, calling on interior architect Wilfried Deydier.

About the Avengers Airbnb suite:

  • Capacity: 6 people – 2 bedrooms
  • Price: from €230 per night for two people on Booking (2-night minimum)

4. Sleep in a lodge with the jaguars at Parrot World

Parrot World is a one-of-a-kind park offering a little slice of the Amazon, just a short hop from Disneyland Paris.

Above all, it’s a new-generation zoo that opened in 2020, combining animal welfare with sharing biodiversity conservation issues with the public. Parrot World, as the name suggests, is the kingdom of parrots — a park sponsored by the Parrot Wild Life Association, which works to protect these magnificent birds emblematic of the Amazon, which you can admire in a giant 10,000-square-metre aviary.

As you’ll see in the M6 report below, Parrot World is also a refuge for all birds in distress.

But Parrot World is also, and above all, the only place where you and your family can watch the real “Bagheera from The Jungle Book” (okay, it’s actually a black jaguar and not a panther 😉) from your own living room! The park’s three types of lodge let you spend one or more unusual nights right in the heart of the zoo and its animals.

About the Parrot World lodges:

  • Capacity: 4 to 6 people – 2 bedrooms
  • Price: from €133 per night for two people on Booking (2-night minimum)
  • Location: Magny-le-Hongre, 11 minutes by bus / 8 minutes from Marne-la-Vallée TGV station

5. The Chez Mickey apartment

How could Touschezmickey.com possibly skip over this apartment dedicated to the most popular mouse of them all?

Named “Chez Mickey”, this apartment run by Caroline — a fellow Disney enthusiast like me — features 100% Disney decor. The styling is admittedly fairly simple, but the atmosphere is wonderfully cosy and never fails to work its charm on young children.

I’ll also take the chance to highlight Caroline’s lovely idea of putting up Christmas decorations (see the image below) throughout the Disneyland Paris Christmas season.

Located in Serris, right next to La Vallée Village outlet, it puts you within 10 minutes of the parks. And the reviews posted on Booking are positively glowing about the place.

About the Chez Mickey apartment:

  • Capacity: 2 to 4 people – 1 bedroom
  • Price: from €166 per night for two people on Booking
  • Location: Magny-le-Hongre, 11 minutes by bus / 8 minutes from Marne-la-Vallée TGV station

6. The Royaume des Lions hotel

In the “nature & discovery” lodge-stay category, the Royaume des Lions hotel in Lumigny is a rare gem located 30 minutes by car from Disneyland Paris.

Is it really a coincidence that the Safari Reserve de Lumigny offers rooms overlooking the lions, given the Lion King expansion coming soon to Disneyland Paris?

Probably not — but either way it makes for a wonderful destination to stay immersed in the African savanna, and the best spot to hear the kings of the animals roar over breakfast.

About the Royaume des Lions hotel:

  • Capacity: 1 to 5 people
  • Price: from €174 per night for two people on Booking (2-night minimum)
  • Location: Magny-le-Hongre, 11 minutes by bus / 8 minutes from Marne-la-Vallée TGV station

7. A night on a boat in Meaux

We may be a little far from the Pirates of the Caribbean vibe, but budding freshwater sailors will love this unique experience: spending a night aboard a liveaboard boat, the Spicy, entirely to yourselves on the Marne. You can even take a 2-hour river cruise with the captain (if you’d rather not sleep aboard)!

Although it’s reserved for just two people, this unusual stay is only 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris, at the Pays de Meaux river stop. Now isn’t that the very definition of unusual?

About a night on the Spicy:

  • Capacity: 2 people
  • Price: from €110 per night for two people on Booking
  • Location: Meaux, 20 minutes by car from Disneyland Paris

8. Sleep in a dome

For an unusual night near Disneyland Paris, the domes at Le Nid d’Eliyah offer an original alternative to the area’s standard hotels. About 15 minutes from the parks, these stays lean into a romantic, cocooning atmosphere — perfect after a long day at Disney.

Each dome offers a cosy world with a private jacuzzi, carefully chosen decor and relaxation-focused touches. It captures that “premium glamping” spirit: the charm of something unusual paired with the comfort of upscale accommodation.

An ideal choice for couples who want to extend the magic of Disneyland Paris in a more intimate, change-of-scenery setting.

About a night at Le Nid d’Eliyah:

  • Capacity: 2 people
  • Price: from €82 per night for two people on Booking
  • Location: Nanteuil-lès-Meaux, 15 minutes by car from Disneyland Paris
