Disneyland or Disney Adventure World: which park to choose?
Since March 2026, the question has changed. The second park, long judged too small, has become Disney Adventure World, a full-blown park in its own right. Here's how to decide based on your group and the time you have.
Disneyland Park
The original, opened in 1992. The castle, Main Street, the parades: Disney magic in its purest form.
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Phantom Manor
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Peter Pan's Flight
Best for: first visits, young children, a fairytale atmosphere.
Less suited if you're mainly after thrill rides.
Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios)
The second park, transformed in March 2026 around Adventure Bay lake. Cinema, heroes and immersive worlds.
- 🆕 Frozen Ever After
- Crush's Coaster
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
- Ratatouille: The Adventure
Best for: fans of Frozen, Marvel and Pixar, teens, thrill-seekers.
Less suited if you're set on the classic castle atmosphere.
Which one is right for you?
Choose Disneyland Park if…
- It's your first visit to Disneyland Paris.
- You're travelling with young children (ages 3 to 7).
- You want the classic atmosphere: castle, parades, Main Street.
- You prefer gentle, magical rides over big thrills.
Choose Disney Adventure World if…
- Your children love Frozen, Marvel or Pixar.
- You're travelling with teens or thrill-seekers.
- You want to discover the 2026 new openings.
- You already know the original park and want something new.
💡 Our verdict
For nearly twenty years, the second park was Disneyland Paris's weak spot: too small, done in half a day. That's no longer true. With World of Frozen, Avengers Campus and the transformation into Disney Adventure World (more than 90% of the park reworked since 2002), it now rivals the original park — and will keep growing, with a Lion King land expected in 2027.
If you're only coming for one day, choose based on your group using the profiles above. But if you can, get a 2-park ticket over 2 days: a day for each, without rushing. Start with the one that best fits your group — you'll inevitably want to see the other.
