Why do we love the Disney Sequoia Lodge?
- For its proximity to the parks: it’s next to the Marvel Hotel and the Newport Bay Club, a 10-min walk to Disney Village and 15 minutes to the parks.
- For its cosy fireplace lounge at the Redwood Bar and Lounges.
- For the raclette at Hunter’s Grill (in winter), the hotel’s all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant
- For the huge indoor and outdoor pool area with spa, water slides and children’s water games.
An upcoming refurbishment in 2025 ?
Our blog was the first in France to announce this major renovation in January 2023.
Although still unofficial, the information has been confirmed by the architecture firm Whildorn according to DLP Report X account. Furthermore, many guests of the Disney Sequoia Lodge were able to get a glimpse of the hotel’s future style this year. Indeed, the corridor on the 4th floor of the hotel has been partially renovated, giving a glimpse of the hotel’s new, brighter, more modern style. Some rooms have already been renovated as well but no preview is available yet. As of January 2025, no official timetable or closure announcement has been made.
How much does it cost to stay at Sequoia Lodge?
Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is a mid-range hotel. The average price for a night is somewhere in between the top end of the range and the more affordable hotels.

When is the cheapest season to book at Sequoia Lodge?
The winter season is the perfect time to enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the hotel and the lowest room rates. November and February, the coldest and least crowded months at Disneyland Paris, offer the best deals.
As you can see from the picture below, last-minute bookings are still possible in January at affordable prices.

Where is the hotel located?
Accessible by car from Avenue Robert Schuman, the hotel is located around Lake Disney (formerly Lake Buena Vista). The Sequoia is located between the New York the Art of Marvel hotel and the Newport Bay Club opposite.

As you can see from the map above, this hotel is even closer to the theme parks than Newport. Another thing to note is that the hotel is made up of several lodges, the main lodge and 6 adjoining lodges named after iconic American national parks:
- Yosemite Lodge
- Yellowstone Lodge
- Sierra Lodge
- Monterrey Lodge
- Big Sur
- The 6th chalet has no bedrooms and only the indoor swimming pool.
Not just any tree!
Proving that Disney doesn’t do things the same way everyone else does, the giant sequoia that the architect wanted at the centre of the complex was sourced from nurseries in Italy for months. (source : https://www.antoinegrumbach.fr).
How do I get to Disneyland Paris from the Sequoïa?
You have two choices:
- On foot: take the Lake Disney promenade and walk past the New York Hotel to reach Disney Village in 5 minutes and the entrance to one of the two parks in 10 minutes.
- By shuttle: the free shuttle stops every 12 minutes in front of the hotel entrance, 7 days a week, from 6.30am to 11pm. It takes a good 15 minutes to reach the bus station. To return to the hotel, go to the platform dedicated to the Sequoïa Lodge hotel (SL) at the Marne-la-Vallée / Chessy north bus station.
Brief history of the hotel
The Sequoïa owes its design to the only French architect ever chosen to design a Disney hotel: Antoine Grumbach. Antoine Grumbach participated in a competition organised by the Walt Disney Company, competing against other renowned architects including Jean Nouvel. It should be noted that Antoine Grumbach had already proposed another project a few months earlier, a hotel project illustrating the “forest of giants”, with immense buildings as tall as sequoias, connected by footbridges.
Rooms and suites at the Sequoia Lodge
The hotel has a large number of rooms: 1011 classic rooms and 14 suites. Le Sequoïa offers three types of accommodation:
- Standard Rooms: Disney classics take pride of place in these cosy rooms with an ‘American chalet’ atmosphere. There are several types of standard rooms: from the most classic, to those closest to the hotel’s facilities (restaurant, swimming pool, boutique), to those with the best view of Lake Disney. The latter is the most expensive.
- Golden Forest Superior Rooms: Although no larger than the above, these rooms are located in the Golden Forest Club area and include a number of exclusive benefits. These include a private reception, breakfast and a sweet and savoury snack (from 4pm to 5.30pm) in the cosy atmosphere of the lounge, luggage storage, more amenities (mini-fridge, coffee maker) and access to the private lounge.
- Golden Forest Suites: At 55m2, the Sequoia Suites are more than twice the size of the other rooms. With a TV cabinet separating the bedroom from the lounge, they are very reminiscent of the Newport Bay Club.

Food at the Sequoia
Are you hesitating to pick the breakfast or half board formula ? Do you appreciate not having to leave the hotel after a day in the park? Here’s some information about the food at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge: breakfast, dinner, we’ll explain it all!
Breakfast
Guests with breakfast, half board or full board options can enjoy their first meal of the day at Hunter’s Grill and Buffet.
Priced at €24 per adult and €17 per child (the same as other Disney hotels), the breakfast option is an all-you-can-eat buffet served in one of the two rooms of the Hunter’s Grill Beaver Creek Tavern. Ideal for big eaters, a little less profitable for bird eaters!
But for the price, you’ll have access to a very wide selection! Viennese pastries, fresh fruit, cheeses, a wide range of breads… the choice is huge! And it’s as big as the dining room, which is an advantage when you consider how busy the restaurant can get!
Hunter’s Grill & Beaver Creek Tavern
Hunter’s Grill will delight the palates of meat lovers and vegetarians alike! Don’t expect the finest cuisine at Hunter’s Grill, which is more of an upmarket cafeteria than a gourmet restaurant.
Disneyland Paris has to charge a hefty price for this all-you-can-eat buffet: €45 per adult (new prices 2022/2023) and €25 per child. This comes to €140 for a family of 4.
Activities
This is just a taste of the activities that await you at Sequoia Lodge. Relax in the 27-degree year-round heated pool, shop at Disney, laugh by the fire. This is one of the resorts with the most indoor and outdoor activities for all ages.
Indoor Pool
There’s no better way to unwind after a busy day in the parks! Quarry Pool & Health, the water feature at Disney Sequoia Lodge, is one of the most spacious of any Disney hotel with a pool. Before you explore the pool, head to the locker rooms where you can change and even buy a swimsuit from the vending machine if you need one.

After a shower, you can enjoy the indoor swimming pool, hammam, jacuzzi, giant slide and outdoor pool in summer. Important note for parents: swimming is supervised!
The selfie spot
Minnie, Daisy, Eeyore, Goofy & Max: Disney characters love the mountain air! Next to the hotel’s pool table you’ll find a meeting point, the ideal place to add to your collection of signatures and selfies with the characters. These selfie spots are a huge advantage when you consider how long queues can be in the parks.
And if you’re lucky, you might run into some of them over breakfast or dinner.

David’s tip
Check the small sign near the Selfie Spot to see when the characters are present. If not, don’t hesitate to ask a member of the cast at reception.
The gym and weight training
How to burn off all those calories during your stay at Disneyland Paris? The Fitness Centre is the best friend of sports enthusiasts and anyone who needs to work out before or after a day in the parks.
Note the opening times: in winter, the gym is not open in the morning, but only from 3pm to 10pm!
Little Prairie: the kids’ corner
Whether it is an eye game, a giant Power 4 or a TV corner, the little ones have their own space at Sequoïa.
