Which ticket do you actually need for New Year at Disneyland Paris?

This is the bit that trips up more visitors than anything else: 31 December is a restricted-access date. To get into Disneyland Park that day and experience the night, you’ll need one of these three things.

1. A ticket dated 31 December. The simplest option: a ticket dated precisely for 31/12/2026, giving access to both the daytime and the evening. The undated “Liberté” ticket is not accepted on 31/12.

What these figures tell you: the 2-park ticket jumps from €147 on 30 December to €185 on the 31st, so that’s €38 more for the New Year’s Eve night alone. First thing to know, and it surprises a lot of families: the 1-night format is not sold over New Year. For an arrival on 31 December, the minimum bookable stay is 2 nights / 3 days. Here are the official prices I recorded for that format, park tickets included, based on 2 adults and 1 child.

How to read this: to see in the new year on site, the entry ticket starts at roughly €1,777 for a family of 3 at Davy Crockett Ranch, hotel and tickets included across 3 days in the parks. The surprise in the ranking: Davy Crockett (3-star) comes in ahead of the Santa Fe (2-star), the trade-off being that you need a car to get there. At the other end, the Disneyland Hotel sails past €4,800 for the same stay.

Why 31 December is one of the priciest dates of the year

Two things stack up over New Year, and that’s what sends the bill soaring. First, the nightly rate, which hits the very top of the annual pricing grid. Second, and this is the most expensive factor of all, the obligation to book at least 2 nights: you simply can’t turn up just for the night of the 31st and head home the next morning. Your minimum budget is effectively doubled as a result.

The good news: this spike is very short-lived, and the Christmas décor stays up until 6 January. Shifting your stay by a fortnight changes the bill dramatically. Here’s the comparison for a strictly identical format (2 nights / 3 days, 2 adults + 1 child, tickets included).

The sum to remember: the same 2-night stay at the Santa Fe costs €1,845 for a family of 3 over New Year, versus €856 in mid-January. For a complete New Year’s Eve, several restaurants lay on special menus on the night of the 31st. There are three tiers, from character tables to hotel buffets. Here are the prices charged for the season, worth confirming each year.

Book very early: these menus sell out weeks before 31 December. Reservations generally open around mid-October for Disney hotel guests, and roughly 60 days before the date for everyone else. To dine at a restaurant inside Disneyland Park on 31 December, you’ll need a ticket valid for that day.

Nailing New Year’s Eve at Disneyland Paris (and paying less)

• Book as early as you possibly can. With dynamic pricing, New Year prices only climb as the date approaches and rooms fill up. For a date this in-demand, aiming 6 to 12 months ahead is the only way to catch the floor price. The hotels sell out fast in late December, I’ve watched dates vanish within days.
• Arrive early on 31 December. New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest days of the year. Be in the park by early afternoon to knock out the rides before the evening crowds and to bag a good spot facing the castle for the midnight fireworks. Come 11pm, the good viewing spots are long gone.
• Compare the package against buying separately. On a short one-night trip, the Disney package (hotel + 2-park tickets + parking + Extra Magic Time) often works out more competitive than a bare night at a partner hotel with 31 December dated tickets bought separately. Run the numbers both ways before you decide.
• Plan for the cold and the logistics. Warm clothes are non-negotiable if you’re going to last until midnight outdoors, keep the official app on your phone for real-time hours, and agree a meeting point in advance if you’re in a group. Also think about parking if you’re coming by car.

• You want New Year in the park, whatever it costs: book right now, keeping the 2-night minimum in mind. Davy Crockett Ranch (€592/pers.) and the Cheyenne (€647/pers.) offer the best balance of comfort and budget.
• You want the Christmas magic without blowing the budget: aim for the first fortnight of January. The décor, parade and tree are all still there, and the bill drops to half price.
• You live nearby: a simple ticket dated 31 December (from €150 adult) is all you need to enjoy the night and the fireworks, no hotel night required.

Fancy the Disney atmosphere on 31 December without paying for a park ticket? Disney Village, the strip of restaurants and shops at the entrance to the resort, is free to walk into. You’ll find bars, restaurants and a festive buzz to welcome the new year, no dated ticket required.
